It was my first time attending the conference and I'm glad I did. Loads of information about Nigeria, it's current environmental challenges, how to make positive impact as youths through ideas, enterpreneurship, being good ambassadors abbl. The most important bit of this conference for me was just a little observation- For once in my life, I actually perceived youths as being passionate about Nigeria and looking to talk about how 'we' could make a better nation of that country.
Networking is good as it has so many faces to it. It could mean contributing to a channel that represents your interest on the question of Nigeria and it could mean directly benefitting from such process for your personal ends. What exactly do we want? It's high time we stopped relying on Nigeria for everything or anything, we should be the change that others benefit from...let's be the sacrifice, for once.
I'd like to see a better organised ICONS 2010 with a main agenda that is being acknowledged by majority of the people as fundamental. Let's have a theme that everything revolves around. Let's be disciplined- time management, let us talk- it's about us-the future of Nigeria, let us take note of these important things and work on them as a group or organisation as it were...let this be a continuous process...it's about a great change. Yes, it's about time and chance, it is also about individual effort through incremental effective contribution. I know we can do it.
